About
Researcher, educator, and advocate for evidence-based policy. My work bridges rigorous academic inquiry and real-world impact.

My Journey
I grew up in a context where women's economic participation was rarely studied, let alone supported. That gap between what I observed in my community and what I read in economics textbooks became the driving force of my career.
After completing my Bachelor's in Economics & Finance in Malaysia and my Master's in International Relations & Diplomacy in Uganda, I returned to Somalia determined to produce research that mattered — not just to academic journals, but to the policymakers and communities whose lives the research describes.
Today, my work spans three interconnected areas: political economy research on governance and gender, financial coaching for women entrepreneurs, and policy advisory for governments and international organizations. I am currently a PhD Student investigating how institutional fragmentation in fragile states creates gendered economic exclusion.
I believe that research is a form of service. When done well, it gives voice to those who are not in the room where decisions are made. It names patterns that power would prefer remain invisible. And it provides the evidence base for building a more equitable world.
